Lamborghini Gallardo model, aka "What I've been slaving over for far longer than expected".

So what have I been up to all this time? I've been trying to get my head around Autodesk's Maya 3D package.

This thing is huge.
No, I'm not talking about size, it's actually rather small. But this thing does everything, don't beleive me? Here's a quick 'feature list' from the autodesk.com site :

Intuitive User Interface. Data and Scene Management Tools, Polygon Modeling, NURBS Modeling, Subdivision Surface Modeling and Polygon Proxy Modeling, General Animation, Character Animation, Deformers
Rigid and Soft Body Dynamics, Particles and Fields, Maya Paint Effects, Toon Shader, Maya Artisan, 3D Paint, Multiple Rendering Options, Rendering Controls and Effects Scripting, OpenMaya API/SDK, Japanese Localization, Connectivity and Integration, CAD Data Transfer.
PLUS
Maya Fluid Effects
Maya Nucleus Unified Simulation Framework
Maya nCloth
Maya Hair
Maya Fur
Maya Live

That's a mighty big list there. I've barely scraped the surface of the polygon modeling tools and it's enormous. There's easily a dozen different ways to do seemingly anything. I'm seriously considering buying a book (or two) just to learn this damn program. :O

Been working on a few things lately.

  • Figured out how to burn just about any format video to a playable DVD format, can finally turn those downloaded movies into something I can watch in the living room.
  • Learning Zbrush3
  • Finally working my way through Gran Turismo 4 and Need For Speed: Carbon
  • Working on a number of digital paintings using Corel's Painter program.
  • Modeling a Lamborghini Gallardo in Maya.

Tonnes of fun as always.
Cheers. :D
