Rebuild of Evangelion new emblem spotted.
After reading a lengthy discussion of the new symbols found in RoE, I decided to have a closer look for myself.
To start with I opened up the movie and proceeded to grab three frames from the movie. I then went and cropped out the symbol from the screen grabs, and combined them all in one file. I then created two additional copies of each frame placing them all in a 3x3 grid. The left hand column of images are the raw scree grabs without any changes. The images in the middle column have had the colour levels adjusted to highlight the symbol better. And the right hand column were run through an Unsharp Mask filter to brighten up the symbol while leaving much of the darker areas unchanged. Each row in the grid contain the same frame. Each square on the grid was numbered according to frame, followed by the order in which the images were processed via filters/adjustments (1=no changes, 2=colour levels, 3=Unsharp Mask)
Now that you know how the image was prepared, I can get on with the actual analysis of the image.
